2023 Georgia football recruiting target four-star linebacker, Troy Bowles, has made his decision.
Troy Bowles, son of NFL head coach Todd Bowles, is a 6 foot 206-pound linebacker from Tampa, Florida. He has been rated a four-star prospect across all four major recruiting sites (On3, Rivals, 247Sports, and ESPN). 247Sports has Bowles rated as their number two linebacker in the country while On3, Rivals, and ESPN have him rated as their number three.
Bowles amassed 103 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception during his junior season.
Bowles is also a multi-sport athlete. He played basketball for two years and ran track as a junior. He was once timed at 11.73 seconds in the 100-meter dash. This translates to about the equivalent of a 4.89 40-yard dash time according to Milesplit.com.
Bowles has made the decision to play football at the University of Georgia. Bowles announced via Twitter.
Kirby Smart was one of 43 other head coaches to offer the Jesuit High School linebacker. Bowles chose Georgia over Oklahoma and Ohio State.
Bowles will join a linebacker recruiting class that already included Raylen Wilson On3’s number four linebacker in the 2023 cycle and CJ Allen On3’s number eleven linebacker in the 2023 cycle. After losing Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker, and Channing Tindall to the NFL in 2021 Georgia looks to have reloaded their linebacking corps.
Glenn Schumann continues to show his elite level of recruiting. Bringing in three of the top fifteen linebackers in next year’s recruiting cycle is no small feat. Especially when you consider what Georgia just lost at the same position.
Georgia could add a couple more defensive recruits to the 2023 class over the next 7 days. Four-star defensive lineman Jamaal Jarrett is set to commit on Tuesday, July 19th, and four-star safety Joenel Aguero is set to commit Saturday, July 23rd. On3 gives Georgia a 92% chance to land Jarrett and a 96% chance to land Aguero.
